Cairns Holiday Park awarded best for backpacker
On Thursday 6 November, Cairns Holiday Park accepted the award for the 2014 Golden Backpackers ‘Best Holiday Park’ in Australia as voted by tens of thousands of TNT Magazine readers and a panel of secret reviewers.
Cairns Holiday Park, managed by Australian Tourist Park Management (ATPM) and operated by Roz Barnett and Bob Bastian, provides a range of quality accommodation, facilities and customer service.
“We are so popular with backpackers because we treat them like family. Also because we are the closest holiday park to Cairns CBD, easy to get to from the airport and based in the gateway to Australia’s iconic Great Barrier Reef,” Park Manager Roz Barnett said.
“Not only do we offer excellent facilities such as a huge outdoor camp kitchen, large grassy powered and unpowered sites, resort style pool, studio rooms, free WiFi and more – we also offer full tour booking services to help each of our visitors have the best experience and make the most of their time in Cairns!”
The gala dinner awards night in Sydney, hosted by TV presenter Mikey Robins, consisted of almost 40 awards announced to a room full of Australasia’s independent travel sector representatives targeting backpackers. The Great Barrier Reef was voted ‘Best Visitor Attraction’, ahead of Sydney Harbour and Fraser Island, and Adventure Cairns and Beyond was voted ‘Best Small Travel Agent’.
Cairns came in second in the 2014 Golden Backpacks Award ‘Best Destination’ category, with The Whitsundays narrowly winning.
